Food?

New thing that I wonder. People eat food in order to produce energy that our body can use. Generally speaking, the food we eat is broken down into its simplest forms (minerals, vitamins, etc...) and used as necessary. For actual energy, we need a lot of starches like bread and pastas or basic sugar. Our bodies break down the sugar by adding some extra oxygen into it, producing ATP for energy.
So... what if someone was able to harness that conversion process and mass produce edible ATP we could just inject for energy? Would we still need to eat? Or could we just inject ATP and other stuff (again with the vitamins and minerals we need to function... amino acids.... etc) and never have to eat again?
I'd be totally okay with not eating I think. What a waste of time! I could save a whole 25-30 minutes a day if I didn't eat! Even more if I never had to cook again either!
