Navigating your way through pages and pages of posts can be difficult. That's why there's a nice Navigation Bar at the top of your screen! It might look something like this:
Here's a quick runthrough of the buttons.
Home -- will take you to the home page of the message board.
Help -- should give you answers for very basic questions.
Search -- allows you to search the message board for certain key words. You may be able to find a certain thread much quicker than manually searching.
Members -- gives a quick rundown of all the registered members of this board.
Admin -- provides functions for the administrators of this board.
Profile -- is all about you! Edit your profile with this button.
Logout -- If you are using a public computer please remember to always logout to protect your account. If you are posting from home, it's probably okay to stay logged in.
Now that we have that covered, let me show you some fun areas you'll see when you post!
When you create a new thread you'll automatically see those four areas.
The Subject field is just like in an email. It is the title of your post. For example, if you are going into detail how much you love your '78 Pinto you might want to call the post "My Pinto Rules!". You would not want to call it "Bananas" though.
The Message Icon is not extremely important. Moderators like to use exclamation points for announcements and other good information.
Add Tags is where the real fun begins. You can format text, add links to URLs and pictures, or post your email address. Check out some of my Quick Tips for more information on Tags.
Add Smilies is just a fun thing to do in your post. These are not necessary and over using them makes it difficult to read. However, a well placed smiley face or frown can convey the tone of your sentences.
