OK, Here is where we can post life lessons or just notes on something you've learned and is helpful...
My lesson of the day is: You know how your not suppose to put aluminum foil in the microwave...well don't have it in a clothes dryer either, results can be fire or serious burns when unloading dryer. (grabbing the super heated foil)

Don't throw water on a grease fire. Everyone knows that. But... don't throw water on an electrical fire either. Sure the fire will go out, but who's going to pull your twitching corpse from the wall socket? (water + electricity = fun light show)

I have seen this is action before! I don't know how this works, but...NEVER put a a metal fork or spoon in a glass bowl full of boiling water that has just come out of the microwave. It can explode in your face!

You ought to try it! It works better if it is a shallow glass pyrex dish!

I have seen this is action before! I don't know how this works, but...NEVER put a a metal fork or spoon in a glass bowl full of boiling water that has just come out of the microwave. It can explode in your face! The catch is the water has to be relatively pure. Here's why: everyone knows water boils at about 212 F. What causes it to do this is not the water itself, but the impurities within the water (minerals, metals, sugar/tea/coffee, etc..). When you put pure water into the microwave (such as bottled water) and heat it, it will reach its boiling point but can't actually boil until something impure is introduced. That's why sticking a spoon into the water will make it explode. Its a violent reaction from the inability to boil. Kids don't try this ever, not even with parents supervision. Watch it on Myth Busters instead.Massocistic adult experiment: Wash out a coffee cup and make sure it's rinsed very well. Fill it 3/4 with distilled water and nuke it for a couple minutes. Put the cup in a safe location (like the kitchen sink) and use some very long tongs to drop a spoon into the cup. If the water is at its boiling point or hotter it will explode.

Did you know? If you put Christmas lights into the microwave they light up. Once again kids, REALLY don't try this. Ever. Here's why. Take a look at a clear light bulb. You should notice two small metal rods sticking up in the middle of the bulb connected by a tiny wire (the filament). What you can't see is the gas inside the bulb. The electrical current runs up one rod, across the filament, and down the second rod. A few electrons (that's what electricty is) jump off the filament and bump into the gas particles causing it to light up. If you microwave a light bulb you still provide electrons, just in a different manner. So, the gas particles get tiny bits of electrical charge inside them and light up. The results are a very fun light show for about 20 seconds. After that the bulbs and/or microwave will probably explode. Please don't try this at home. Try it in your neighbor's home instead.

OK, got one... If you go too Wendy's and get a burger, don't take it home and toss bag and all into the microwave... Wendy's wraps their burgers in foil, which will cause the sparks and ignite the bag resulting in fire.
