I'll update this page as often as I find good freeware. - Firefox Browser. Much better than Internet Explorer. Be sure to check out the extensions to get rid of web annoyances and add more power to your surfing.
- The Gimp is similar to Photoshop. It's a pixel based drawing tool.
- Karbon14 is also a drawing tool, but is vector based. Part of the KOffice suite, you'll have to play with binaries to install.
- Easy Thumbs will turn most images into thumbnails very quickly. Noted exception: doesn't work with .gif files.
- Find some games by Ville Monkkonen. They're short but very well done for one person.
- AbiWord is like MSWord or MSWorks but is free. Can handle all major files like txt, rtf, doc, etc.
- You need to get Ad-Aware Personal to take care of spyware on your PC. It works very well.
- Speaking of protecting your PC, get Avast! Antivirus software if you don't have McAfee or Norton.
- Although not technically freeware to download, Photobucket let's you upload pictures to their servers so you can use them on message boards, blogs, journals, etc.
- SnapFiles has a bunch of freeware for download. I use it rather than Google when searching for general types of software.

Josh's note: Topic moved from another thread to this page. Just thought I'd mention some of the cool and useful programs that I have found. Some are dull and boring but others seem to have purpose. 1.) LimeWire- a P2P File Sharing Program which is nice and easy to use. Can be found at www.limewire.com (also if you try it and like it, let me know and I can send you the Pro version) 2.) Google Earth!- A cool program which is for broadband users in which lets you check out satellite images all over the world, pinpoint locations and whatnot. (However the photos at this point is fairly old, but an update coming soon) Check out at www.googleearth.com3.) First Alert!- Useful program for which provides local weather and weather alerts. Can be found by following the links @ www.wjhg.com4.) DeepBurner- Very Nice!, program for CDR-CDRW and DVD-RW Burning and Copying. Very easy to use and small download. (Use it daily, because it seems to be 2 x faster than other burning software) Check it out on www.deepburner.com

Okay all, I've been practicing with The Gimp (see post above to download it) a bit and I've almost got the logo thing down pat. Check out my latest attempt: (Click here if you can't see the image) If you like it and want to try making your own, be sure to download The Gimp and play around with it. I'd also be happy to attempt making a logo for you, but be forewarned. I'm not sure how well I'll be able to make it at this point, and it may take a while before I complete it. Happy day to all!

Update: I'm getting pretty good at the logos with just letters in them. Actually, I can make them pretty fast. I made 4 today in just over an hour, all very nice. I'll start uploading some graphics to my site as I get quality images created. For now, settle on this: l Click here to visit the graphics page.
